I NEED A PART #856265 REMOTE OIL HEAD FOR MY 740A VOLVO ENGINE AND CANNOT FIND THE PART, CAN ANYONE GIVE ME DIRECTION ON A ALTERNATE PART OR FIX THAT WOULD WORK FYI IT WAS DISCONINUED BY VOLVO 10 YEARS AGO AND I HAVE TRIED ALL THE RESELLERS.

Yeah, VW didn't have an oil filter on their bugs. I got one of them for my bike(harley) about 1972 when I changed from stock oil bag to older style which didn't have a filter. Used the remote on a VW trike and later on a VW sand-rail and on my boat. Still have an extra remote mount kit hiding in the corner.
It doesn't matter where you mount a remote filter but to ensure the filter always stays full of oil( no drain back), mount it and fill hose no higher than stock mounting position on block. I mount my filter higher for easier oil change and crank my engine over 8-10 revolutions(if it's been sitting a week or more) before firing it up to ensure oil system is full(pre-oiled).
