I had my boat waxed recently and they got wax on my Sunbrella canvas. Any suggestions on how to clean this off? Thanks -

Vic

Can only suggest ammonia. Don't think it'll hurt Sunbrella & is known to remove wax. Try 50/50 with water combo first. Just my 2¢.

or you can try gentle brushing with a medium soft/hard bristle brush, then Bob's method; I'd use fairly warm water to help break up the wax.

Thanks guys - do you think Roll Off would do any good? Not sure if it disolves wax -

After you get the wax off, then I'd remove the guys that waxed the boat with the canvas up!

Vic, have heard numerous times that Dawn dish washing detergent can be used to strip wax off cars/boats. Maybe dilute a bit in water and then apply with soft brush, old tooth brush. Paul.

I know for sure that Windex outside window cleaner will remove all wax. don't ask.....

Just brush some undiluted liquid onto fabric, scrub a bit and thoroughly rinse, then let dry. I'd follow up with 303 protectant.

Thanks for the wisdom all, I'll give it a try this weekend. Unfortunately I have many stains to test different methods.

Vic, if you do use the 303 product on your Sunbrella; don't use the 303 Aerospace Protectant, that's for vinyl & rubber. For Sunbrella fabric, you want the 303 Fabric Guard.
FYI!

Once you remove the wax, you may want to re-treat the area with the waterproofing spray. I'm sure whatever you use on the wax will also remove any of that.

Thanks guys - just so you know the 303 Fabric Cleaner and a toothbrush did the trick - came off easy -
