Replacement Speakers

What would you recommend for replacement speakers for those that came standard in the cockpit in a Regal 3860? Currently there are Kenwood speakers, I think the 6.5 inch diameter. Sounds quality is really important so we don't mind paying for that. Saw some Bose but that would mean cutting bigger holes in the fiberglass which we really don't want to do. Appreciate any suggestions!
 
the best advice is to go to a showroom and listen to a few different brands for your self side by side with the same music source. then decide how much quality you want to buy. its an exponential curve on quality vs cost and everyone wants the best but they also have a threshold of pain in the wallet that tempers the enthusiasm for quality. you are right in thinking you can do better than kenwood. sadly its the weak link in the chain syndrome. if you upgrade the speakers and everything else is kenwood factory standard, you won't get much for your effort. if there is a local shop that handles marine stereo installations in your area that is money well spent over just swapping out the speakers yourself.

Yes, I did find it...thank you! The Regal specific info about not cutting into the fiberglass so that we would still have a safe sleeping area was so important to know. Appreciate it!
