We had several lively threads about owner made modifications at the "old" place. Should we redo them over here or are people tired of seeing them?

I NEVER tire of Regal Mods! (or any, for that matter!)

I guess one of the best features of the "old site" was the ability to search past topics, of how to install marine a/c, etc. and see everything, on that topic from the past, without having to place a new post, that was covered in the past. I think I will miss that most of all.....

But we will survive!

Would it be posnible to still do a "Monday Night Chat" from this board? I was just getting into it!

I'm working on the chat thing. Most likely will happen towards the end of July as I'm leaving for vacation next week. I didn't chat every week but it was nice when I did go in. I always hated the software he used, crude and clunky and many people had issues getting into it. I won't repeat his mistakes!

Is there any possibility of adding the "search" feature to this forum? That was a tremendous value that I used alot. Projects are always coming up that you know have been covered in the past but how do you find those threads???

Right now, its actually better/quicker to do a google search that includes "boatered" and whatever topic you want searched. that will direct you to boatered and then also do the separate search on your topic.

Rommer,

I think that is a good idea. I would be interested in seeing the TV and storage mods that you had posted previously. There were also some great davit mods that our friends from Canada did that I hope they will repost when they get back from their trip.

Thanks for the post Rommer. I really miss the info from the old site.

Rommer,
I think it would be great!.. I can't tell you how much I have learned from you guys. Since I am a relatively new boater, the mods as well as the general info. about my boat keeps the fun in boating.http://www.boatered.com/forum/images/icon_mi_11.gif

P.S. Roughly how much would I expect to pay to add bow thrusters to my 3880?

Depends on how much of the work you are willing to do yourself. Anywhere from $4k-$8k

Arrived at Champlins in Block island yesterday, a place known for cramming boats in every possible nook and cranny. They put us in an angular conner, with 2 boats rafted in front, and 1 very large boat in back. Oh and lots of wind pushing me away from my intended docking location. Down a narrow fairway, spin her around to ease the bow in, kick over the stern and a little cheater juice to slide the bow the rest of the way over. Lots of "nice job Captain" heard from the surrounding boats.

Yup I love my wife's thruster! :)
