We have to sell the boat. My Captain cannot work on the boat any longer due to low back pain. This, along with getting laid off (after 34 yrs at the same job) made this a very difficult decision for us last year. Thankfully, he did get a job after a year, and I finally found a part time job, too! So, we have to be grateful for this at this age.
We've been on the water in 3 different boats for over 28 years. We are brokenhearted and going to miss it! Some day we hope to go back to trailering something like our 21'.

We have to sell before the summer storage fees kick in. We signed with the broker at the yard as he is right at the marina most of the time and well acquainted with the maintenance crew we've had. Regal is a Regal and the teak on the boat is absolutely beautiful, but there are an awful lot of boats for sale.

Working on the ad for the classifieds here but I needed to ask you smart boaters here in the northeast; a friend sold their boat quickly and it ended up in Italy! Intriguing sales technique or what? Anyone heard of this?

Our broker has all the websites, boattrader, CL, Ebay, etc., but any suggestions would be appreciated from our northeast members.

so sorry to hear of your plight.

When you look at all those boats that sit and sit that no one cares about then think about people like you, folks that really "get it"

Wish you luck, hope you are able to get back in.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

YachtWorld is a must for the listing. Beyond that it is presentation and price. Keep it looking good and price it realistically. Your broker should have access to the soldboats database through YachtWorld. This will give you actual sold numbers as reported by member brokers and not just asking prices.

Good luck.

My advice is to remove everything not boating related from your boat. Keep it clean, dry and fresh smelling (dryer sheets work well) so the first impression is positive. Good luck.

Wow folks - so sorry to hear about the Regal - she's a beautiful ride and I've got pictures of you folks in York Harbor to prove it. I'm sure she'll move. Congrats on the job front though - and hope Dick feels better soon. If you miss the water, come on up to Maine for a ride on Riverbed!
All the best -
Steve and CJ

You don't say what size boat you have. Be very leery of overseas buyers of boats under 40'. It is often a scam. Many variations - ask for return of deposit on phony check. The EU has strict requirements on boats and most US built boats don't don't meet them. Modifications are required. Find a broker who has export experience. Advice: When looking at prices for your boat on line, the high priced boats have just come on the market. After it has been a few months, the price comes down significantly. Those are the middle priced boats. The low priced boats are mostly just as good, just have been for sale longer and the price has dropped. I'd look at lower 1/3 priced boat of your type, know that people take 85% of asking and make that your price to sell quickly. In your ad make sure you note the boat is in great condition priced to sell.
