I just saw a picture of the sailboat that went aground . A teenager was at the helm when it beached ? Was there an article in the paper ?

Boy O Boy.....is his daddy gunna be pissed at him.........no allowance for a month !!

I would just be happy my kid and passengers did not die. Would love to know the story on how this happened. The kid made it all the way down from Maine, so I assume he new his stuff, see no sails, maybe he lost power and the anchor would not hold in the rough seas.

The rumors online are: Maryland to Maine, people sleeping and sailed up on the beach with no one on watch, and kid took boat (possibly uninsured) without Dad's knowledge. Yes I'd be happy my kid survived but that would be far from the end of it.

Now whether any of that is true, who knows.

The story I heard is similar to Ron's. Apparently the delivery Captain was late arriving to NJ to continue the delivery. The son, his girlfriend and another friend jumped on and proceeded with the trip. The 3 were sleeping when the boat ran aground. Sea Tow as well as several other salvos gave bids to pull off, but with no insurance and no money, there was no salvage. I believe she is still on the beach. Might take a bulldozer to finish her off.

I saw a link on another site that had it on Craigs List for $15,000 and it says 'needs immediate removal'.

The guy posting on the other site said he was there checking it out and the owner showed up to look at it and basically washed his hands of it and said he wasn't going to do anything.

The owner is asking for $15,000...It will probably cost 3 times that much to pull her off not to mention all the repairs. I'm sure the FINS people are not happy. I'm wondering if this guy is facing any fines?
