The California Department of Boating and Waterways (DBW) has issued an order to extend the closure of recreational boating in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta waterways in San Joaquin CountyONLY through noon Thursday, April 20.
“The decision to keep the San Joaquin County area of the Delta closed for at least two more days is based on significantly higher than normal high tides and higher than normal flows in the San Joaquin River. Based on consultations with the State Flood Operations Center we don't yet believe that recreational boat traffic near the levees in San Joaquin County is sound," said David Johnson, DBW deputy director.
The restricted area is between Tracy, Stockton, Old River, and the North Fork of the Mokelumne River in San Joaquin Delta. The department's restriction pertains only to recreational boating. Any non-recreational boating activities are permitted.
WooHOO i can finally get out for a bit tomorrow!!
