I remember reading a post about odors permeating your sanitation hoses and how to test the hoses. However,I can't remember the test and can't find it doing a search.

Can someone offer advise?

Bob

Wet a wash cloth or rag and rub it on the hoses. If the rag stinks........

Thanks for the quick reply.

I appreciate your help.

I thought you had to use hot water and let it sit on the pipe to get a valid test?

If you have to replace try using inch and a half PVC pipe where you can, odors permeating will never be a proplem with it.

Which PVC pipe? White irrigation pipe or black sewer pipe?

David

White schedule 40 plumbing pipe from Home Depot; comes in 10 foot lengths. Every six or 8 feet or so, you need to add a flexible coupling to dampen the vibration from when the boat is running, so that the pipe doesn't crack. Home Depot also carries them, they're commonly called FERNCO couplings, used to make repairs to drain and vent lines in your home. Made of black rubber. They come with clamps to attach them, but change the clamps because the ones that are supplied with the couplings have galvanized screws on them, which will rust. Change them to clamps that are all-stainless steel, even the screw.
