Returning from Baltimore Inner Harbor ** approx 6:30pm Saturday evening, heard a distress call to Coast Guard from a 38ft Cruisers taking on water at the mouth of the Sassafras River.
Below is the some of the communications by the CG heard on Channel 16....
The boat was sinking in 9ft of water, a few hundred yards from shore. 4 persons onboard were reported to be entering the water.
Owner couldn't give exact location as he didn't know how to operate his GPS. Bilge pump didn't work, and the keel deck was under water. Boat was sinking stern down.
Subsequent broadcast noted that the vessel had run aground earlier in the day.
Anyone know anymore about this unfortunate incident?
