The last few days have been pretty hairy.
I put up my tractor shelter on Friday, strongly protected against the prevailing West wind. SO what happens? Saturday night we get a blizzard and a brutally strong NORTH wind. Okay, we made it through that okay, the shed is still up. This morning we get a monsoon and a brutally strong SOUTH wind. This time one of the ratchets that hold the damn thing together came loose and was flapping in the breeze. I went out there and looked like something out of "The Perfect Storm" trying to get the sonofabitch back together again. But I did it, after cutting some holes on the inside of the fabric to pull the drawstring back through...
I was mad, until I noticed a neighbor's really nice big new portable garage was completely shredded on top and ruined. I guess I shouldn't complain about my troubles...
Today two major NY bridges were closed nearly simultaneously for accidents, the TZ and the GW. And a NY ferry was shipping water in the treacherous seaway that usually is called New York Harbor. And trees galore were down everywhere and power was out nearly everywhere (except my house for some reason - thankfully!).
What a mess. For a not-so-bad winter, this is turning out to be a pretty bad winter!!!
