I boat on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky, which is surounded by steep shore lines and bluffs some 100 to 200 feet high. My question is; if caught out on the lake by a quick thunder storm, should I go into a sheltered cove or next to the bank or stay in the middle of the lake? In the cove if a tree on the bank gets hit, the lightning may run to the water, but out on the water I would be the tallest structue there. Does anyone have good advice on this subject?
