I can't figure out why this would happen, but when I hook up to shore water I still seem to be drawing from my fresh water tank. The shore water is on which should bypass the water tank. I'm trying to figure out what might still be drawing from the tank because it doesn't seem to be the sinks. Two weekends ago when I left I turned off the AC, water pressure pump, water heater and ice maker as well as the shore water hook up. When we returned last weekend the water tank was empty. There doesn't seem to be enough water in the bilge for it to be leaking so something must be drawing from it that I'm not thinking about. Any ideas?

Turn off your fresh water pump and you should draw from the shore hook up. On my boat at least, if i do not turn off the water pump the water pump will charge the system. I have to turn off the pump if I want to use the shore water side.

Was the tank truly empty, or did the water tank monitor just read empty? There is a 12V breaker for the fresh water tank monitor. Is it possible that was turned off?

I agree with "boatn" that you have to turn off the pressure pump when hooked up to shore water.

The water pump is off. I'll have to see what happens when we get to the boat this weekend. I left it with the tank full, shore water off, water pressure pump off, hot water heater off, heads off, AC off, ice maker running but not making ice and the frige running. The refrigerator doesn't use water if it doesn't have an icemaker right?

When you say the ice maker was running, but not making ice, I don't know how that can be. If it has water available, either from shore or onboard, it will make ice until the bin is full.
Still, it would not consume 70 gallons of fresh water from your tank.
You made one statement the leads me to believe you might have a leak. You said "there doesn't seem to be enough water in the bilge...". Your bilge should be dry in that boat. Is it possible the tank is leaking and the bilge pumps are evacuating all but a small amount of the water?
You are correct regarding the refrigerator not using any water.
Once again, make sure the fresh water tank monitor breaker is turned on.

The icemaker works just like one in a shore fridge. Raise the metal arm all the way up, no ice is made. But you're right, no way even if it is on it will empty the tanks. Tank monitor is working because I literally did refill the tank again. I'll have to check again for leaks. The only place I see water in the bilge is in forward bilge though. The water tank is under the aft berth. It's a mystery wrapped in an enigma I tell ya' lol.
