Should I get into boating?

I would say go for it, but with a big caveat. You need to be able to find someone as Pascal indicated to start the boat up a couple of times a month and also to scrape barnacles off the boat. If you can get a lift, it will probably cost around $10K, if you can find someone to do it in your area. So, the cost of the boat almost pales in comparison to what you will pay to maintain the aforementioned boat. But what you don't want, is to go there on your one weekend every two months and have it not work right. So, you have to pay one way or another. I prefer to pay and use the boat, rather than pay someone else to make sure the boat is ready to use, but that's just me. If you have the financing to take care of the maintenance so that the boat is ready when you are, then go for it. As Ken said, there is little risk, ie you will be able to sell it in a year for a grand less than you are paying.

I cant thank you enough for the T/A Challenger , the Big Blocked Road Runner 440's rule ,and the 928 .You really know how to restore them to with the 7 layers of clearcoat buffed out between each coat too. The truck left an hour ago when I signed the titles for you. Before I run out to take all three for a spin by the way extra thanks for having all the tanks topped off for me. You are the man!!!!!
Seriously now.
If you want to see if you got the bug for boating just do it.
you will know within the first year if its for you or not.
EVERYONE here that is a boat owner has been through your situation and there are some that have come and gone.More than once too I'll bet!
Be sure you have it surveyed first .
There are plenty of used boats availible if this one doesnt measure up!!!
Dont take the people here to seriously as there is alot of tongue and cheek that goes on!
