I am trying to use the siphon tank on the front of my Raritan CF-12. I put Clean Potty in it and it has not gone into the tank. So do I need to replace CH50CW valve on the water inlet or can I clean out the current valve and have it work? I would like not to spend any money so repair is my first choice.

CF12? Are you sure? That isn't a Raritan part number. Generally, an "F" in the part number indicates that the head flushes with pressurized fresh water. If that is the case, the deodorant system won't work. It will only work on Crown Head units that flush with raw water.

I will be down at the boat next weekend I will check. I took that number from the manual in the Carver book. My unit flushes with raw water and has the tank in the front with the hose and check valve in the tank that goes to the siphon valve at the raw water inlet to the bowl. I am sure that it is a Crown Head.

Vic, the manual says it is a Crown Head Centrifugal Discharge Series and it uses sea water to flush.
The line is clear and the check valve works. What should I check next?

You can't always go by the manual - you need to get the model number right off the head - there should be a white label on top of the motor. If you bought the boat used, the manual may not necessarily be the correct one. But if it is indeed a Crown Head Centrifugal Discharge series, then you'll likely need to replace the CH50CW siphon bowl elbow. But first be sure that you're using the correct fluid in the tank. ONLY use Raritan "Concentrate" or raritan "CP - Cleans Potties," mixed 3 parts water to one part CP -- NOTHING ELSE!!! Other products may be too thick in consistency to work through the siphon system on the Crown Head. With the Raritan "Concentrate," mix it in the ratio of 2 oz. to 1/2 gallon of fresh water.

Head Master (Vic) I got it fixed
What I did was taped a funnel to the hose and filled it with CP and water. I then held it above the bowl and flushed. About the 4th Flush it broke loose and started flowing, put the check valve on and it works great.

The model was CL12 serial number 000631 on the motor

Thanks for the update; glad you got it working. Your Crown Head dates back to the early '90's, and is the same basic unit we are producing at the present time.
