sliding doors for galley

I have a 3067 88 santigo and the sliding doors under the island in the galley are in disrepair. I know there is a name for them but I can't remenber. I sure they are no longer mader but does any one have suggestion on how to replace them Can't find anythig on the internet that is even close. Thanks
 
They are teak tambor doors...they can go from flat to having an arch without damage...they can also roll. Tambor should be available elsewhere, but I will check to see if Carver still offers it.
 
I check with our parts manager, and he thinks they still might have an off white tambor available...let me know if you'd like me to check further.

So "Tambor" is the brand name???

PS - Hi Dan, I see you're already working on getting the boat ready for Spring. You're way ahead of me - between work, a flood up on the Rondout, and a dose of "the crud" I have yet to get started on commissioning chores...
 
Pete..tambor is a type of door. it's the little slats that roll up as you open them.
 
Pete: I have been in Florida since Feb 7 just got why I don't know. People work for food I work for fuel!!!!. The tambor door is brown a located under the island. Its probably not 3.0 feet high. Kenny let me know if you may have one I'm superised it would be white as all the doors and sliders are teak.
 
They actually used several colors of tambor...the teak is definately not available from Carver any longer..I'll put an e-mail in to our parts rep to chack availability and pricing for the off white.
 
Dan. I have the same boat as you but my previous boat was a 1989 Doral Citation. I'm pretty sure it had the same type of pleated cupboard doors on a lot of their openings. I had to replace a couple of them about three years ago and found a shop nearby that had some in a big roll. I just cut off pieces I needed and he charged me very little. It wasn't an exact match but it did fit and rolled in the slot OK. It was however oak. I oiled it with teak oil and the color ended up almost identical. Let me know if you want me to contact him to see if he has any left. I can get the dimensions from my boat as it is the same.
 
He has finally opened for the year but does not have any of the oak pleat left. Since it had been a few years, he can't remember where it came from, sorry. Dan.
 
We had the same thing with our 89 Doral Citation. We went to a kitchen cabinet company and bought tambour from them. A little pricey, but makes good doors.

Tambour is not a brand name. If you think of a roll-top desk, the rolley part is tambour - like slats of wood on a string or other runner.
