I know its early, but is there any word about SPBM ?
The other marinas in the area sent out word that they were rebuilding, but what about SPBM ?
Does anyone have Wayne's input ?

The odds makers have it 3 to 1 he won't.

Personally I hope he does. The place sure had it's share of charm.

Spoke to Wayne today. He said after they clean up they are going to fix the docks and put them back in. By spring everything will be like it was before the storm.

I keep my boat there for winter only. I came up on 10/14 so I assume it was blocked and shrink wrapped long before the storm hit. I live in NJ and my house was hit by a huge tree and I can't stay there so I haven't been able to get up to Stony Point to look for my boat. It is a Meridian 341 Sedan Bridge named Obsession, hailing port Jersey City. If anyone knows anything about it, I'd appreciate any info. Does anyone know if there is an alternate number I can call for information?

I don't recall seeing your boat either good or bad. Many boats on land sustained damage from minor to extensive.

Thanks. I guess no one is familiar with my boat since I'm not there in the summer and it would be shrink wrapped. I don;t even know where they blocked it. I know I need to get up there just not sure when I can. Does anyone know if the marina staff made an assessment and is calling people whose boats were damaged?

I do not believe the marina is making assessments and personally calling as most people who had boats have been up there over the last week but I could be wrong. I understand your difficulties in getting up but I would suggest that you do as early as possible. I dont want to alarm you unnecessarily but there were many boats on land that took on signficant damage. There also are boats that had zero damage so hopefully you are in this arena. If you boat is shrinkwrapped, it will be hard for someone to easily identify it for you. The office has reopened so it is possible you can get through by phone.

That doesn't sound like good news! But I will hope for the best. Let us know and I hope all is well.

No it's good, just limited info. I have a picture of what I believe is his boat in front of mine. Still on the stands and wrapped.

Glad to hear. I just got a bad feeling from your post. Kind of like a women saying we need to talk:)

I can't believe the local and state gov't let ya'll in so soon.
We had to wait for 2 1/2 weeks to get back into Lake Charles, and over a month to get back onto Cameron.
Even if you were a resident.

Per Wayne at SPYC, he is rebuilding using concrete docks and improving all aspects of the marina

If he doesn't there are going to be a lot of boats without slips next year.

Even if I do not secure a replacement boat right away, as I believe mine is totaled, I will still pay for my slip in Haverstraw so I do not lose it. I think that slips in the Hudson will be hard to come by in 2013 mostly for the larger boats, 35 feet +.....

Hopefully your in for next year Bill, if not you can probably rent it out. Put me on the list, spot #1. I'm a little concenred of where we will end up next year.

As we all know from the past, what Wayne does and what he says are two different things.

The undamaged boats can't wait to long to have a slip for a 2013 summer season. If Wayne wants to retain any of the boats he had last season, he'll have to move NOW to show he is rebuilding, or the boats will go other places.

What's your thoughts

I have not had a chance to get up to marina to see damage. Does it look like anything is getting done at SPBM?

Haverstraws not going to let you rent out your slip if your not using it.
