3 Nigerian stowaways found on ship's rudder after 11 days at sea

Three stowaways were rescued by Spain's Salvamento Marítimo in the Canary Islands after an 11-day trip from Nigeria and taken to the hospital shortly after arrival.

I'll say one thing. Ship's rudder is safer than an airplanes landing gear!

True that. But I cannot imagine what it was like for the length of that journey on that rudder. It's not the kindest environment. Certainly more survivable than landing gear well at altitude but 11 days? Wow. God Bless 'em. Plus points for determination. I'd let them in. It would be a bad message to let out but I would let them in.

Humans can generally survive about 3 days without drinking water. Thaty was a saltwater journey. Any word if they brought along some fresh water? If they survived 11 days without fresh water, that is truly amazing.
