Step by Step Winterization engine block

I will be doing for the first time. Is there a source for step by step drain block etc in very simplistic description. I have a 5.7 mercruiser. Should I purchase that DIY Winterizing Flush Kit? How fast does the engine draw the fluid out of the bucket? Should the prop always be off when using the muffs? Why is it necessary to use 50/50 with anti freeze and water? I've read some forum info about pouring AF down the hoses. What hoses? I apologize for very basic questions. Thanks.
