Another good article in the Chronicle this morning I was reading on the train. The editorial today was also about the Klamath dams.

Being from Washington State I thought all dams had fish ladders. It sounds like the ones on the Klamath River do not and it would cost $300M to put them in so the power company may be interested in taking the dams out. We'll have to see how this shakes out, anything that makes more wild salmon is good in my book.

I was part of the fruitless fight against developers and wine growers who lobbied to draw down the Klamath River. Today's lack of salmon fisheries is a direct result of this action in the 1990s. I wished we had been wrong on this one!
