Beware of low tide - its not too deep there. I go there at least twice a year and the earlier in the day the better for a spot. During thr week is usually no problem though.
WIBC Washington Irving Boat Club.
Has a nice outdoor patio area overlooking the water down to the GWB. Outside grill cooks up burgers, dogs, ribs, & stuff. Not a very big guest dock and a 30 footer is about the limit, so I can still squeeze in.
I ate there last night with a bunch of freinds. Fun ride back down the Hudson to Jersey City in the thunder storm.
I called on 16 and they asked me to switch to 9. I asked for permission to enter the marina to dock for the restaurant and they told me that the restaurant has nothing to do with the marina and I can go in. In past years, the security guard told me I had to call in first.
Never a water problem at Striped Bass for a 30 ft boat. First come docking. Use the dock to the left of the restaurant. Don't dock at the pump-out facility directly in front of the building. And, tie your boat where others can still use the dock. Usually plenty of room unless someone screws it up.
Got to the Striped Bass later than expected...docks were full. Squeezed my boat into the guest dock area of WIBC and had BBQ stuff on the patio. Good DJ there playing the oldies. Big crowd, but the food was OK and the beer was cold. From there we headed up to Bear Mt. for the fireworks.
Cap10pat, funny, I asked about that slot immediately in front of the restaurant because some kids were standing on the dock in front of the signs and I couldn't see the signs saying it was the pump out dock.
