Last year I used Bristol finish on my cover boards and after 7 coats and alot of wet sanding they looked beautiful. I wanted a real high gloss that would last multiple seasons. Wrong! Over the winter the bristol finish started to lift and turn yellow. That stuff is $55 a quart and I dont want to tell you how many quarts I used.

Does anyone have any reccomendations on what to try this year? Sikkens is the toughest stuff around but I want the clear high gloss look.

Maybe I should just paint over it.
