I assume my 1998 Mariner came with a sunbrella floor cover when new, there are snaps along the edge of the cabin floor. Wondering if anyone knows if they are still available from Carver. I know the floor plan stayed the same for several years.

You would probably be a lot better served having them made locally.

When we owned our 2000 Mariner I had Carver make me a new bow seat cover. I ordered it in May of 2009 (when Carver had laid most of their staff off) and received the cover in September of 2009. When I did receive it I found that they send you the snaps in a separate bag as you have to install them yourself so they will match up. If I remember correctly it was north of $200.

Good luck

Carver never offered a factory installed canvas floor covering. It was either put on by the dealer (as we do sometimes) or had made by a previous owner

I don't think you want a sunbrella/canvas on your floor. When we bought our carver in FL, the local broker suggested a shop that did a rough pourious outdoor carpet WITHOUT the rubber backing but WITH the snaps. It has turned out GREAT! It dries quick, easy to clean as you just hose it down. It also wears traffic great and is very durable. It's lasted 6 years with no sign of wear and is trampled on by many people, our 2 dogs, and multiple beverage mishaps.

My SR had a heavy linen cover that snapped in to protect the carpet.

Thanks all for the great info, as usual the best place to come for answers. I guess I will try to have it made, thanks again!

When I bought my boat a couple of years ago it had brand new carpet, a very light color. I had a sunbrella cover made at a local shop and I'm glad I did my carpet still looks like new even with kids coming and goes all the time. The best thing was when the washing machine malfunctioned and when my wife opened the door of the front loader it turned out it was full of water, it was like a tidal wave in the cabin. We through some towels on the mess and then unsnapped the covers brought then out side to dry (which only took a few minutes) everything cleaned up in no time and there was no damage.
BTW if you have carpeted stairs have runners made for them as well cuts down on the wear big time.

I bought the heavy Sunbrella material from ebay and had a local shop cut and sew it. Turned out great and when it gets dirty, The Admiral just throws it in the washing machine.

Sunbrella is a good material to use as a runner, wtrong water resistant and like Neal says, goes into the washing machine and clean up nicely.

I have a 2005 Carver 33 SS. It has a full (muti piece)carpet cover from salon to the stateroom. Even under the dinette table. This was not a factory option?

Thanks,

Roger

Not that I have ever seen from Carver...it would have been installed by the dealer (or for the dealer). We do this on boats going to boat shows as it keeps the carpet in great condition after all those people walk on it. We'll also do it for people who request it.

I had every inch of carpet covered with custom made covers it was only about $600. I'm very happy with it.
