I found a 36' aft cabin for sale that has sunk due to dock collapse from an ice storm. In water up to fly bridge. External damage has been repaired and the engines are working. My question, is it worth the look or in your opinions should I walk away. The price is pretty good. I will definetly have a survey done if we get serious just not sure if it's worth the headache?

It will be a headache...especially if sunk in salt water. You'll be chasing gremlins the rest of the boats life.

???????? What year? What Make??? What Model???... What Engines??? Etc. Etc. Etc.
How Much?
You need to supply more information.

well...I'm guessing since this is posted in the Carver section, that it is a Carver 36 Aft Cabin as it states in the original post. That being said...there are only 2 engines it could have...454s or Crusader Diesels. Year really doesn't matter if the boat has sunk, and the price would only matter to the prospective buyer

"That being said...there are only 2 engines it could have...454s or Crusader Diesels."
Oh really??

lots of problems but fresh water is generally benign

Replacing the cushions, wood products, carpet, mattresses... ect.? That would be a pretty big headache, on top of the worry about what electrical and mechanical damage it has.
Has the electrical components like a/c and refrig. been changed out? Electronics?????

That price had better be phenomenal, not just "good". You should get the boat essentially for salvage value, depending upon how deep it sank, since you're going to be doing a lot of gutting and repairing...

How skilled are you at refurbishing boats? Or, how patient are you? Or how rich are you? If the answer to any of the three above is "not much", I'd suggest you steer clear...
