Had an issue with the stock anchor on the “new” office... undersized and I had to use 200’ of chain in 10/15’ of water to sorta hold.

So I got a bigger one. Problem is that installing a 400lbs isn’t very easy! :)

I had it the pallet loaded in my F150 with a forklift And had to tie the pallet to a tree and move the truck forward to get it down...

Then once on the hand truck and on the dock came the removal of the old 190 pounder. Dropped it on a maintenance float and brought it to the dock

Had to use a block on the piling to lift it up on the dock thanks to my neighbor winch

Then after swapping the chain, we splashed the new one and dragged it along the bottom to the bow with the windlass.

Glad I have a young second mate on board!

Stainless but Unpolished. We sanded it down to 280 grit and that will be fine. It s an anchor...

Gee do you think a couple of more passes with finer grit would have brought it around more?

Yeah absolutely. Ideally we should have kept going to 600, 1200, 1800 then a polishing wheel. Not worth it. It s an anchor! And we re goin FYI use it a lot. The only time people see it is if we re. Tied along side on starboard... at our home dock you can’t see it so... not worth it.
