Had a great time at Tequila Jack's this weekend.
They were very interested in how I knew about the place and I told them about Boatered and they were impressed! They said I now hold the record for having traveled the furthest to get there. The owner (Jim, Jack's son) said he was going to try and keep the place open although the neighbors are giving him a hard time of it.

Got there late afternoon on Friday.
Left Piermont, through the Verrazano, out about three miles in the ocean and through the Fire Island Inlet. Ocean was great with just a gentle roll.
The dock hands at TJ's were great. Very helpful. We just gave them two stern lines when we docked and they took care of the rest. The food was excellent although a bit pricey of course. I was surprised however at the few brands of tequila available. After all, it is in the name….

Friday was a little slow but still a lot of fun. Saturday I got up early and walked over to Ocean Beach to get coffee and look around. Nice little town with plenty of places to eat, drink and be merry.

Saturday was a little over cast until late in the afternoon, but it was a lot of fun hanging on the dock with new fellow boaters and the action kicked up that night with a DJ, drinks and dancing.

Sunday I had to pick my daughter up in Zack's bay and I was a little concerned about the wind picking up, but all in all it wasn't too bad. Rafted up with friends for an hour or so, left through Jones Inlet and was able to do about 20 knots in the ocean. When I came up the Hudson, what a difference in temp! At the GWB it went up about 15 degrees!

The wife wants to go back so she obviously had fun as well.

Jimmy Buffet is playing at Jones Beach in two weeks, so we'll be going back to Zach's Bay for more fun.
