Hello all

Its been a while since I have been on here. We have been having way to much fun on our Regal 2200. The 350 Mag puts smiles on my face every time I use it. My son has learned how to water ski this year and turn around backwards on the knee board. Thats the GOOD.

The Bad I was boating today on Lake Anna in VA
Was going under a bridge in a no wake zone going slow and the water went from 7 feet TO WAM WAM WAM. Took a Chunk out of the skeg and took chunks out of my NEW PROP. This was right in the middle of the crossing under the bridge.
Some one must have thrown something over into the water something big.

Now a question for all of you. What are your thoughts on the SKEG GARD products?
Are they worth it or should I take the drive off and have it rewelded?

Thank you

Sorry for your loss, but have you inquired to your insurance company? You might find that they'll replace your lower unit. All depends on the fine print and how high your deductable is, if applicable.

In answer to your actual question, welding would be preferred (if done properly).

Tough break for a new boat.
I have mixed views on skeg protectors. I would rather a chunk of skeg break off than the entire lower unit.

I think most insurance companies threat this as an under water collision.
