I'm confused: Using the booklet "tides & currents 2006" i tried to find out best starting time at Benicia toward San Francisco, meaning going with the current.
For a given date, say Sept. 3th, on page 29 it says max. current at Golden Gate at 0807, flood.
Page 28 shows high tide at GG for 1019.
The current charts starting pae 49 show max. current at GG right at max. flood!
What do I get wrong here?
Isn't max. flood the same as high tide?
