I'm hearing all sorts of changes that some companies may implement in the gulf coast region thanks to the two previous hurricane seasons.
So, here's a short list (what I have heard so far, at least).
Gulf coast boaters (TX, LA, MS, AL, FL, GA, SC, NC, and in some cases VA, DE, MD, NJ, NY, MD)
Check your insurance renewals for the following changes:
*Named storm or wind storm deductable either added or changed.
*Names storm or wind storm EXCLUSIONS
*Hurricane Haul-Out
*Surcharges on rack storage facility stored boats (I'm not too confident of the accuracy of this. Reason: unless the company asks if your boat is rack stored, how would they know? This item is from a fairly weak source.)
*Limitation on length and/or value (may or may not affect renewals)
