I need some advice. This year I figured it was time to replace the tires and check the bearings on my boat trailer so I ordered some GY Marathon radials, size 185/80R-13. The one I took off were at least 10yrs old and were 175D-13(B78-13) and dry rotting. I noticed when jacking it up that the springs were sitting almost horizontal with weight upon them. I wonder if they should be replaced as well and thinking I might anyway. My problem is that I'm not sure which capacity springs I should purchase. My boat is a '90 1800sr Maxum and the trailer is an Escort model. The boat weighs around 2k lbs dry, not sure about the trailer. Would 3k lbs capacity springs work or 3.5k lbs springs work or is their an equation to figure this out?
Thanks,
Doug
