We got a chance to get out this weekend so we took a short trip to Rock Hall from Baltimore. As hot as it was it was still good to be out. Rock Hall is an interesting little town to. All in all a fun trip. Thanks to Kurt for the recommendations. We did not get to see everything because of the heat so we will have to go back *(darn) an see the rest.

Here are a few photos:

We took a quick trip down to inner harbor while we waited for the fuel dock to open

John,
Rock Hall is where we found our sailboat and yes, it is a nice town.
Made it from there to Fred's in one day...a very long day. Left at 6 am and pulled into Olversons 7:30 that evening.

Charles, you forgot about being marooned in Chestertown while on that trip.

Ironically, while cleaning out Mom's house on Sunday we found an old postcard sent by my Aunt & Uncle who were boaters. The note says, "Lots of water here but not much else." It was postmarked from Rock Hall............ in 1948!!!

John,

I'm glad you enjoyed the trip. We'll go there with you sometime if you want? We prefer to anchor in Swan Creek. But we can catch up with you via dink.

Mike, that postcard is a keeper!

For those that do not know the bay we should point out that picture 1 is Baltimore not Rock Hall. Rock hall main street is about 200 yards long.

You have no idea how many people I've told that story to and you stepping up to the plate to help!!

Charles - did you do that trip under sail or motor? Either way it would still be a long day. It has to be close to 100 miles. So how were you marooned?

Mike - I edited the photo caption to say Baltimore inner harbor. Good catch.

Kurt - we are thinking of going back towards the end of July. Not to much boating the next few weeks with my brother coming and then moving to Columbia. I would like to get together with you before the end of summer. Doesn't necessarily gave to be Rock Hall either. I am sure there are plenty of cool places to go in the north bay.

John, I agree that the trip is right about 100 miles. We started out sailing as we had a good breeze coming out of the northeast and we were making pretty good time. Early afternoon, it started to die down some so we motor sailed for a couple of hours until the breeze really dropped and we motored the rest of the way. My plan was to hopefully make the trip in one day and I decided if we could make it to the turn to head up river to Solomons by 3:30, we'd keep going. We got there a little after 3 so we kept going to the Yeocomico.

As far as being stranded, long story and when I have some time I'll shoot you an email about it, but Mike, who at the time was a total stranger except for seeing his name here on Boatered, really went out of his way and got me out of a jam.

Charles, no big deal. I enjoyed helping and meeting your family.

Kurt and John,
May I suggest Still Pond? Depending on the date we may even have open beds at Case de Mikee if you don't want to stay on board overnight.

Mike, Kurt could make it no problem but I don't think I would chance it. I draw 5 feet and won't go anywhere that does not show a depth of 6. From what I have read about going into Still Pond that is a tricky thing to accomplish. Maybe if I drove over. :-)
