While along the Gulf Coast we don't actually have a "winter season" we do have our concerns about weather prior to leaving the dock.

There are many resources, but one that I use is this one:

http://www.lightningmaps.org/blitzo...chive&lang=en&bo_map=usa_big&bo_animation=now

This indicates lightning activity. And lightning activity is one sure way to cause me to re-think the da's boating activity.

What do others use?

Good one... I wonder if thre is an app for that.

I use myRadar, while it doesn't show strikes you know based on the color where it's likely to occur

In the Summer it's a sure bet there will be lightening somewhere off, in or around South West Florida. Barely a day goes by we don't hear a rumble.
