USS Pennsylvania. Largest U.S. Submarine.

I don't believe The USS Pennsylvania is any larger than any other Ohio Class SSBN. Terrific video, worth watching.

The Ohio class is impressive technology, but if size is what you are looking for, the Russian Typhoon is massive.

Very few people have ever laid eyes on an Ohio Class Submarine.

I got a tour of the boomer base in Bangor and the NAS at Whidbey Island in 1987. It was and "educators orientation visit". On Black Monday we toured Bangor, including a tour of the sub in dry dock. Impressive training facility with full scale mockups. Had dinner in the O Club with some of the officers of the Blue crew. Next day we went to Whidbey.

Remember a training room where they trained crews to repair leaks. They kept adding more and more leaks, the sound was deafening even standing outside, and ultimately they overwhelmed the crew with too many leaks...and then they cut the lights!

The sub we toured was outfitted with 16 tubes, IIRC, and each missile was MIRV'd with 12 warheads. Missiles were off loaded and hidden in bunkers while the boat was in drydock. Bunks and personal space were incredibly tight.

Cool visit!
