While having my dockmaster check on my boat due to another problem. She noticed the head rug was soaked. We have determined that the water is coming from the base of the Vacuflush. Now I am 3 hours away from the boat so I need have parts in hand when I go to Charleston. It looks like it is coming from the foot valve. Fix advice?

hard to tell, it could be a leak in the hose coming into the valve, a bad clamp, etc... you wont' know until you look at it.

yes I was afraid of that, I was hoping for a common problem.

Thanks

Pascal has pretty much hit the nail on the head. Unless she can tell you specifically "what" is leaking, you aren't going to know until you go look for yourself.

Sealand offers repair kits for the bottom area, but they aren't all that cheap - and aren't universally available. You'd have to get the kit (if you need it) from a Sealand dealer.

you can start with some simple questions for the dockmaster. find out if the freshwater system is turned on. turn it off, drain the pressue and see if the leak stops. this will tell you alot. if it does stop you might want to purchase a new water valve assembly to save yourself having to go back for parts. it can't hurt to have one as a spare.

Vic thanks, yes my local marine "brick an mortar" store has the water valve and I will pick it up on my way to the boat. I think that is the issue it only leaks under pressure. Could be a hose clamp but the water valve is seems more likely. Will advise next week when I can visit the boat.
