I checked the weather Friday night to plan our trip for Saturday. When I turned the radio on to check weather before leaving I got a flahing NMEA message which means I don't have a GPS signal to my Ray215. Has anyone had this problem before? The only thing I can think of is maybe the connection from my GPS to the radio came off. I have a 2003 3860 and the Ray215 is flush mouted in the bottom part of the dash. I took the 4 screws out of the base plate but the radio did'nt move.

Thanks,
Steve

I have the same set up on my 2002 3860. I assume that you had a working connection at one time. The factory did not connect my 215 to the GPS. I had to do it myself. Either the nmea connection failed or you werent getting a fix on the GPS. I think you can get to the radio wiring by taking off the main part of the dash where the guages are mounted. I would check all connections.

I am not sure what you mean about removing the dash, cant the radio be removed from the dash.

Steve

What I meant by removing the dash is to remove the whole dash where the guages are. You should be able to get to the GPS wiring and Radio Wiring that way. The dash can be removed by taking out the screws that hold the cover in place.
