Vic,

Can you confirm that Raritan's TMS is the same product as formerly sold by Snake River?

Do you have any thoughts or comments on this system? I just need to monitor my freshwater and wastewater.

Thanks--
Paul

Paul, it isn't exactly the same as the Snake River unit, but it uses the same basic technology and operating theory. That particular technology has been used for about 25 years now, and is in the public domain. Raritan was producing their unit for a number of years before Snake River went out of business. But there is/was no direct connection between Raritan and Snake River.

The "Profile" tank monitor, from Ferriello Sales, is based on the Snake River unit, and most of the parts are interchangeable between the two.

Either system will do a good job for you as long as you have plastic tanks. If you have metal tanks, the Ferriello system has a special gizmo that drops into the top of metal tanks, allowing the system to be used with a metal tank - the Raritan unit doesn't offer that feature.

Many thanks Vic. I do have easily accessible plastic tanks. I like the Raritan for the company's history and stability.

Thanks again-- Paul

Vic,

I'd like to ask one more question on this issue, if I may. If I am presently using the Snake River system and need to change out the monitoring panel, would it be possible to simply use the same foil strips and wires already being used on my tanks and connect to the Raritan monitoring panel? Thanks!

Hi Vic,

I just came across the Seelevel monitoring system by Garnett. Looks very sleek, particularly the higher end units with indipendent digital read out of each tank at the same time. However, they are called out for RV's only. Do you have any experience with them or any particular reason not to be used on a boat?

I use the Raritan unit with 3 sensors it rocks! I would recommend it to anyone that has plastic tanks. Regards Bill

Tom, as far as I know, the Raritan control head will work with the Snake River sensors.

David, I'd never heard of the Seelevel system by Garnett until you mentioned it. In quickly looking over their website, I see no reason why they couldn't be used in a marine application.
