volt meter for gen set battery

Has anyone installed a volt meter on dash to monitor gen set battery? You would think Carver would install one when you order the generator.

Do you have volt meters to monitor your other batteries? I would not think that would be normal.

The only meter that I have installed was a relocation of my charger amp meter. I wanted to be able to see when the charger was charging.

It should be real simple if you want to find a volt meter and install it.

I have 1998 Carver Mariner 350 and it does have voltmeters for the each of the two starting/house batteries (battery one and two) and there are toggle breakers for those two batteries. I have a third battery dedicated for the generator but no way to monitor it without opening battery case and testing it.

I considered moving my charger amp meter too but I ended up drilling a nice sight window under the seat. I will end up installing a volt meter for the generator but I wonder why Carver would not have just installed it originally, especially if you order the generator as an option.
