Though I have the Ports book and the Skipper Bob booklet and the practically worthless (Pocket book size) Trent-Severn Waterway Boating and Road guide, they all recommend that one purchase all 7? Charts, which are quite expensive.
Are those the large rolled up 20x30 paper charts that are too cumbersome to use while driving the boat?
I thought the small craft channel has navigation markers even through the lakes, no? Just how wrong can you go?
Anyway, I will not shell out over $100 for a one-time use set of charts. If anyone has them and wants to part with them permanently or just for June, I am willing to pay a reduced price for them if you really think I will need them.
I'm sorry to come across like a cheapskate, but as I look deeper into this trip I realize that I will be charged for everything, tying up to any wall with no electricity (hydro) or water actually costs money, I'm not sure what the services are that I will be paying for, and marinas cost more than hotel rooms. I realize that the money goes for upkeep of the canal, but seventy cents a foot just to tie up to a wall?
Is it feasible to anchor out most of the time?
