...on the Ct river when they pull the plug downstream. The water in Haddam is at the base of my pier which is 5 ft above the htl, there is going to be a whole new bunch of trees and junk flushing out towards the sound. The water is as high as msost of the spring freshets I`ve seen.

Not far from you - on canal in Chester. Going to check boat tonight. Low tide 7pm - maybe I'll get in to see the mess......

I was right about the junk going dowm. hundreds of cords of wood went by, I was wrong on the waterlevel, Now it`s the highest i`ve seen, just boiling over the top of the pier. This is the pier that I just finished building along with the ramp and float about two weeks ago. Talk about getting put to the acid test early, i thought I`d have a while before testing the "designed for total immersion" footnote on the plans.

I ran back to NY from RI yesterday for work and noticed that bar (canoe club?) in Middletown had water 1/2 way up its front door. See,s like that place gets flooded yearly, but this was more water than I had ever seen there. Flooding was almost up to Rt. 9. Entire river looked brown with lots of logs.

Later I passed over the Hudson and noticed the same there.

I'd like to be a prop repair guy!

Dan

First pic is during Irene, about a foot over normal high tide, the second is from weds morning. The pier is 8" under with a 5 knot current flowing over it and the float hoops are topped out where the pilings are bolted together. If it wasn`t so foggy you would see pieces of Vermont floating by.
