They knew I would be interested as I sold the boat 2 years ago. It sounds as though the boat may have been overloaded or at the very least weight distribution was questionable. Maybe the captain was not paying attention as well. Doesn't matter! Sending a wake large enough to capsize a 50 ft trawler is not good! That boat had a draft of nearly 5 ft and a displacement of 48,000lbs. A wake caused by being passed from behind when you were unable to quickly turn into it really sent you on a roll.
