Friday is looking like a great boating day on Lake Erie...10 to 13 footers. I may want to try that out :-)

Come on over to southern Lake Michigan. We'll have a better 'thrill' for you.
"**STORM WARNING FOR ALL LAKE MICHIGAN BEACHES**
Winds will be sustained 20 - 35 MPH this afternoon before increasing to 45 to 60 MPH this evening. Waves are expected to be 15 to 20 feet by tonight and lasting into tomorrow."

What are the odds someone in a small boat will be rescued?

Someone take a picture of a 20 foot wave on a lake for me!
Do they roll and break on shore like ocean waves or is it just a chop?
That's unreal.

I was suppose to take my daughter to Cedar Point this weekend. It's not looking good!

Likely a fisherman in a small aluminum boat with no safety gear...

In preparation for this forecast I went to the boat at lunch and added a long line from the bulkhead out to my port mid cleat. I will be taking these winds on my port (non-dock) side so the extra line should relieve some stress on the dock. I am just glad it is this weekend and not next when we are having our first haul.

Niles

There goes my chance for one last lunch cruise before haul out, darn it.

I didn't know how big Lake Erie was, until I flew from Buffalo to Cinciniti. We were over the lake and couldn't see any of the shorelines.
