We have two new version Atlantes' which we all love. Recently, after about 7 -10 days of no-use, we have to flush several times in order for the heads to start to built-up suction. It sounds like the flush water is simply draining into the discharge hose and bubbles are coming out of the bowl. The macerator is spinning but without sucking in the waste. Only after the bubbles are finished will the head start to build up suction and discharge. We didn't have this before, they would start working right at the first flush.

Any ideas? Thanks

Check to be sure the vent line from your holding tank isn't clogged. Start from where the vent line exits the hull and work your way all the way back to where the vent line connects to the tank itself. Dirt daubers love to build their nests in the vent line through-hull fitting.

Also, if you have a vent line charcoal filter, be sure the tank hasn't been overfilled and the filter hasn't gotten wet inside. If it has, the cartridge will have to be replaced.

I doubt that it's a problem with the head itself; it sounds more like the problem is in the external plumbing to, or from, the tank.

Thanks Vic,

Any idea what this "air bubbling" is coming from the bowl? It looks like the whole drain hose is empty and that we have to fill it up with flush water first so that the macerator can built up suction.

My guess would be that the holding tank vent is plugged up and the tank is pressurizing because the air that's inside it can't get out as it the tank fills. This pressure relieves itself through the path of least resistance - back through the head. Kinda like it's breaking wind...[:-bigeyes] [:-bigeyes]
