Hi everyone!!!

Sorry I've been Away From Keyboard (AFK) so much lately - work has been very tough, so has family issues. But all is well, comparatively speaking anyhow!!!

After 12 years at the Anchorage at the head of navigation on the Rondout, we're moving about half way down the creek to a nice little marina called the 340 Abeel Marina:

This is nothing against the fine folks at the Anchorage, we just decided it was time for a change. Plus I met Troy and Jackie Dunn, who just returned from 20-plus years in Alaska (by choice!) and the US Air Force, and they are just wonderful. So I got to put two sets of docks in this year - one at the Anchorage and another at the new place!!!

In case anyone needs a spot, there's now an empty one on a nice long dock at the Anchorage, next to our old friend Mark DeMartini and his family. Julie (the owner) can be reached at 845-338-9899. Dunno if there's any space at 340 Abeel, its a much smaller place. But we're right across from Certified should anyone wish to visit during the summer. I have both big boats on the same dock now, and we'll be hangin on the picnic tables or on the porch when in port. Have a great summer everyone!!!

Wow, I thought that was a Yacht Club that was very particular. I guess you rate! Good luck in the new place. It's a little closer to town and thus different. We hope it works out for all of you folks.

pete - congrats! btw, we're planning a trip up the hudson again this year and if all goes according to plan, we'll be in roundout on sept 5, 6, and leaving the morning of the 7. would love to drop by a say hello.

dan - i don't suppose you guys will be there in sept. you ever planning on going back?

LOL hey Dan, you didnt realize what a highbrow person I was huh??

Actually the owner was incredibly nice, and so are the other slipholders. Naturally I made sure to help them put the docks in so as to make a good impression, and I have to admit they have a long way to go to equal the assembly line operation that goes on at the Anchorage every Spring and Fall. Still, it felt good to make a difference, and we'll definitely enjoy this place. When anyone goes by, if you see some people waving from up on the porch, its probably gonna be us!!!

Ben, both 340 Abeel and the Anchorage charge $55 per foot, I think a couple of the other smaller marinas might even be at only $50. Regardless, its a great deal...

Bruce, I hope you do get to join us next fall - hope to see you there!

Bruce we will be in the area at that time. While we are in the midst of relocating, and that is a long process for us, we will most likely be there then, and it would be great to see you two again. Heck if you are at RYB, we can have dinner at the condo or in town if you like.

Ditto that Pete and Mark.

dan - we'll be staying at ryb again. looking forward to seeing you guys if the timing works out.
