Carver…doing my part to keep the post counts up!!
We pushed off on 7/9 and returned home on 7/24. We went a total of 454nm and stayed in 8 different marinayacht clubs. We traveled with a 36' Silverton express. We were certainly the odd couple but it worked out good. We always left before them and almost always they would catchpass us and would be waiting to handle our lines when we came in.
The other boat…
Day 1
Cleveland sky line
Stayed the night at the Lorain Sailing and yacht Club
Day 2 and 3
We took the south passage around the islands and headed for the Detroit River. We stayed 2 days at the Ford Yacht Club which is a beautiful facility and a great location. Great place to dingy.
Ford Yacht Club, Grosse Ile Mi
Day 4
We traveled up the Detroit River and spent the night at the Harbor Hill Marina across from Belle Isle. The river was closed for the power boat races and there was a nice car show of older Detroit iron.

Harbor Hill
Day 5
We left the river and traveled across Lake St Clair and entered the Clinton River. The plan was 2 days in Mt Clemens Mi. We traveled the 7 miles of no wake down the river and the city officials of Mt Clemens refused to turn on the power for us so we turned around and went back out. The river run was nice. We then decided to go to Algonac which is located in the Lake St Clair North Channel. We stayed at what used to be the home of Chris Craft. There is a lot of history here!

Day 6 (Algonac)
This was a great place to dinghy.
Nice homesboats on the channel
Day 7
We left Algonac and came down the St Clair River, crossed the lake and ran the Detroit River. When we got to the Lake (Erie) it was rough so ducked in around the corner and spent another night at the Ford Yacht Club.
St Clair River
Ford Yacht Club (again)
Day 8, 9 and 10
Lake was still rough but we hugged the Mi shore line and made our way to Port Clinton Oh. We stayed at the Port Clinton Yacht Club. Very nice facility with good food in town. We had our best meal of the trip in a restaurant called the Garden.
Toledo light house
PC
Day 11
We made the run from PC to Cedar Point. We have been to the park by boat for several years. Even though my wife and I don't ride the rides we enjoy the shows and watching people.
CP transient dockage
Day 12, 13, and 14
We went from Sandusky Bay over to Put In Bay on South Bass Island. We stayed on G dock of the Crews Nest which is a little away from the main hubbub.
Entering PIB harbor
Matthew's wood boat rendezvous
From the Perry Monument
Day 15
Went from PIB over to Seaway on Kelley's Island. There were several of our boating friends from different clubs on the island and we had a good time.
Island life
Port Side marina
Day 16
We made the 98nm run from Kelley to Ashtabula (home) with a stop in Lorain (the day 1 stop) for gas.
