I see this in ads on yacht world.

Not for sale to US residents while in US Waters - ANY US RESIDENT CAN PURCHASE THIS BOAT WITH AN OFF SHORE CLOSING
 
I don't know what it means but I've never seen it on a boat I can afford! :D

The article explains it pretty well. It really just add a layer of complications which aren't a deal killer.

Nowadays with Florida having capped sales tax to $300k taxable value foreign flagging doesn't make much sense anymore except for very large yachts where foreign crew may be worth havi g

Would the $300k Florida sales tax cap apply to aircraft also?
