I'm curious, how many out there regulalrly tip their mechanics? How many tip for special service?
Here's the situation; I'm a mechanic down in FL, yesterday (Sunday of Memorial Day weekend) I get an urgent call for help, a cutomer's boat needs some work. I drop what I'm doing at my house, drive in to work, fix the boat and get them underway within 45 minutes (20 min drive to work). With barely a thank you the owner and his buddies are on their way for a day of fishing.
I do not expect tips for doing my job but this seems like a situation where some show of appreciation would be appropriate.
