March and April are supposed to be hot sailfish times. But where are the best spots to fish? And what's the best bait?

The only time I've gone sailfishing was in January on a charter , "Wright Flyer", out of Miami's Government Cut. The mate cast-netted about 50 blue runners I think on the way out the cut, and we boated & released 5 very nice sails before lunch- kite fishing with 20lb test spinning gear. We were maybe only about 1 to 1 1/2 nm off the cut.

I've fished both Key Largo and Key West. Both are great for Sail fishing.

We caught live ballyhoo on the way out at Key West. Key Largo we used dead Ballyhoo.

I like Key West fishing better, more choices. Shark fishing is good too.

Hopefully they are all heading to the Mozambican coast. I am going there later this year LOL!

I have had the best Sailfishing between Pompano and BocaRaton. 90' - 120' of water. Out before sunrise to catch live goggle Eye. Drift and freespool brought best results.
6 releases by 10:30 A:M. Also couple of cutoffs.
Never tried North of Boca or South of Lauderdale.

West Palm Beach is known for good Sailfishing. Ask Ron.(The real Capt. Ron)
