I stopped by the Anchorage a couple times this weekend to check on my boat cover, and while it was fine I saw 2 boats where the shrink wrap split open from the wind, and another where it was pretty much completely shredded and not covering much of anything. Another boat with a blue tarp over it only had the last few feet of the bow covered as the wind blew that off too. On mine one of the antennas which was folded down shifted and was moving against the fiberglass on the side of the cabin and needed to be tied up with a towel around it to make sure it didn't scrape any gelcoat off (it was starting to).

So if your boat is out of sight at a marina somewhere for the winter after the last few days it might be a good idea to pay a visit and make sure all is still in order. Normally shrink wrap holds up real well but I guess the wind was so extreme the past few days that it didn't hold up on the few boats I saw.
