Windlass won't deploy anchor

I am on the water currently and t he windlass will not deploy the anchor. The helm and foot pedals click when I try to drop it but nothing happens. The windlass will pull the anchor up however. Any thoughts?
I was able too get the anchor down by loosening the star bolt on the top. So at least I'm set at the moment. It is a Maxell windlass
 
Hey, it looks nice out there, wish I was out there too.
There is a control solenoid bank on the maxwell I installed. The main power feeds it, and then it turns directions based on the direction asked, up or down.
The fact that it will go in one direction tells me the main power feed is working, but no power is going to it when told to go down. Either a bad or corroded connection to the down solenoid, or bad solenoid.
The problem is I can't tell you where that solenoid bank is on your boat, I never had an issue with it. The one I installed, I put it very near the windlass and main breaker. The main breaker is under the cabin entry step. So it has to be either right near there or right near the windlass in the anchor locker.
 
I found the issue.....the power supply that goes into the motor broke off at the post. Actually the post broke away from the motor. I need to remove the motor and see if it can be repaired or replace the motor. Bummer either way. And yes James, Very nice out there today. Thanks for the help.

I can't seem to stop working on upgrades. Finishing up right now on aft room flooring replacement. At some point when it sells, someone is going to get a really good boat.
Hoping to get out and enjoy the weather this weekend, looks really nice!
 
Something doesn't sound right if the post is broken it should work in either direction the power wires should be the same it just reverses polarity to make the motor spin in both direction this is what the relays do. Is it possible the ground lug is what is broken off?
