Windshield Cap

Missing a chrome plated u shaped cap that covers two parts of my windshield where they butt together. It's about 3" long by 2" deep. Contacted Local Searay dealer who called Taylor Made. They want $680.00 for it. I thought it was a type-0 and it was really $68.00 which would have been overpriced. I expected to pay a premium but that is insane. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Go to a metal fabricator.
I had a guy make braces for my windshield when it started to pull up from canvas.
Taylor made wanted big bucks to fix it.
He fixed it for $200 including install.
