Winterizing

I am currently replacing my thru hulls and intake hoses. I have twin Yanmar 440's. I was thinking of adding a bronze "T" after the ball valve but before the strainer. The purpose being, to have an access to attach a hose to winterize. Up to this point I have been using the strainer, but it is difficult to access. I just thought the "T" would easier? Do you think the "T" would be an issue ? There is no room to relocate the strainer.

Should be fine. Just make sure you have a good way to keep it shut off.

I had a 3000 Wellcraft Martinique for many years with I/O's. Would'nt have I/O's again if you gave me a boat with them. But I did but a bronze 3/4" tee into both the generator strainer hose and the A/C hose just downstream of the strainer. Made winterizing those items easy, and were still on the boat when I sold it after 15 years of my use.
